| Well. where do I begin? November 27th, 2000 was a
cool fall day that started out like most other days, then suddenly the world changed
and I was born! It was not a special event at the time, but now my new Mom and Dad
tell me it was one of the most important days of all times. They tell me every day
how honored they are to have such a perfect lady in the home and even Reilly says he
appreciates me and would not know what to do without me around as his constant companion.
I spent the first 2 years of my life at the Roye's Kennel, just outside the
Louisiana - Texas Border (close to Beaumont, TX). My days were filled with the joy
of seeing so many puppies being born and havng so many kennel mates. I had my own
room with a private fenced in yard, but at times was allowed to play with the others.
I was well looked after and all my medicines and personal needs were cared for.
I had never lived in a real house and had never had a real home with humans to call
my own. That changed on December 14th 2002. I knew things were fixin to change when Martha told me that morning I had company arriving and they were coming just to see me. I was excited, but also very scared. I was use to my surroundings and my routines and was not sure I wanted to upset my life with changes. Richard and Kay arrived and although they had very soothing voices and appeared to be friendly and safe I was just not too sure about complete strangers wanting to pet me and talk to me. Richard had some special treats in the car and he broke them in little pieces and first tried to give me one I was too scared so he left it cose to me and backed away. Being curious I just had to go sniff it and wow it smelled wonderful and tasted even better. The next piece was left a little to him and the last piece I had to take from his hand. His voice sounded different than any other human I had heard talked. Reilly told me later that Dad is some sort of Space Alien from some planet called Canada and he was fixin to become a Texan very soon. Reilly certainly knows a lot of stuff and is really smart (for a brat). I was in horror to hear them say they were going to look at puppies, I was thinking oh no I will be passed over for one of my little brothers or sisters. But my fears were groundless, they just wanted to take some pictures so I would have some memories of my old home. The ride home was interesting. I had never been in a car before and just laid on the floor in the back for the entire drive home. When I got to my new home, the real fun began. Hmmm how do I say this, well, I was still in a little heat but not in the mood if you know what I mean. Well Reilly was at home waiting for me. He took one look at me and was leaping 6 feet in the air! WELL when they opened those glass doors the horny little bugger was clinging to me like a wet blanket. It took me almost a week to convince him that NO means NO everytime, you ladies know what I mean when I say "MEN!" He has calmed down and finally realized I am only looking for a bud not a lover. But enough about Reilly, he has his own website to talk about himself and I am sure he does that. Mom and Dad continue to praise me, I was never house trained but I learned real fast and never even made one single accident in the house. They are soooooo proud of me. I never was allowed to jump op on anyone so I am slowly learning to put my front paws on my Dad's legs and he loves it. also I have learned sitting in his lap makes me feel really wanted and loved. It just feel so cozy up there and I know I am loved. I have also learned to jump up into the bed with Mom and Dad, but only from Mom's side where she has this platform I can use so it is not too high. I prefer to sleep on the floor or on the platform beside my Mom. More to come later |
